The Cornell Public Library is located in west central Wisconsin and offers area residents a variety of services, as well as, an ever growing and changing library collection.
Our library has four Internet-ready computers for public usage. We have an automated system and a computer card catalog, which patrons can use to search our collection. Other services available to our patrons include photocopying, fax and Inter-Library Loan. Library staff will proctor tests for area students being home schooled and for adults who are continuing their education.
The library is located in the original village hall, which was built in 1928. In the early days, the building housed not only the library, but also the city hall, the police department, jail, ambulance and the fire department. Today, the Cornell Public Library continues to call the historic building home.
The library has a collection of historical items including yearbooks, photo albums, newspapers and scrapbooks for area residents to browse. Our historical photos, as well as, those located at the Cornell Visitors Center, are now available on computer files. Interested persons are welcome to look through the actual items in our library or use the computer photo files for their convenience. If you're in the area why not stop in and check us out!
Cornell, Wisconsin...Yesterday DVD's are now available for purchase. This DVD collection consists of four volumes, each approximately 25 to 37 minutes long. They contain historical photos from Cornell and the surrounding area. Numerous "chapters" of photos from Cornell's past, are arranged in a slide show format with musical accompaniment for the viewers enjoyment. The DVD's will be sold by our Friends of the Library group for fifteen dollars each or the set of four for fifty dollars.
